When you think about needlepoint – not only do you find yourself thinking about what canvas or design to stitch – but now you find yourself contemplating the patterns within the pattern!  Some areas of a design automatically lend themselves to certain stitches but sometimes we need a little help…a little inspiration!  Well I am here to tell you it is all around us! Not only are there numerous books to help us along but there are tons of visual aids!  These visual aids help with patterns, help decide on that special color!  Now I am sure everyone has heard all the buzz about Missoni…what a great inspiration for a bargello pattern!  (see photo below) Terry Dryden’s Zentangle Workshops are the perfect example of patterns and designs for inspiration! (see photo below)  Just food for thought…look around – do you see something that could inspire your next stitch?  next pattern?  next color palette?   Let us hear from you…share your inspiration!

NOTE this week’s Build a Stitch Notebook Class has been postponed until August 16th!  Same time 10:30 until Noon on August 16th…the stitches for this class neither Caroline nor myself had done!!!!!!

Don’t forget Wednesday Stitch-ins…we sit and stitch from 10 until ???? every Wednesday!  Food, friends and Fun!!

Bargello Arrows Workshop with design by Terry Dryden will be held at The Bug September 20th and 21st.  It is stitched on 18 count mono and color selection is your choice (your stash) with lots of suggestions in the detailed instruction book.  The kit comes with Instruction Book, drawn canvas already mounted on stretcher bars and lunch is served each day. Sign up now spaces are limited to ten!  For those that have already signed up at the shop you do not need to register!
