Stitch It Angel Ornament Finishing Class August 1, 2026 Saturday

1:00-5:00pm 

Prerequisites: students should be comfortable finishing square ornaments, finishing rounds ornaments, making cording, sewing cording on.

In this class we will be completing either the Long Haired Stitch It Angel or the Angel with a Bob. The templates will be premade so other shapes and Angels cannot be accommodated in class.   

Please arrive with your needlepoint FULLY stitched and removed from bars. This is a fast paced class and there will not be time to finish stitching your piece. 

Please bring the following on the day of the class:
Long Hair or Bob Stitch It Angel (DO NOT STITCH EXTRA ROWS)
Cording 
Backing Fabric  

Please note Dupioni Silk, thinner stretchy velvet, or quilting cotton recommended. Thick fabrics can be hard to sew through and should be avoided. 

As this is a more advanced class please complete the following prep work to ensure you can finish in the allotted amount of time.  It will be difficult to keep up with the pace of the class if you have not completed the prepwork. 

Make your cording ahead of time. To ensure your cording is long enough, loosely lay your strand around your stitching 3 times. Unwind and measure all additional strands to the same length. Once you measure, please count out strands following the chart below and knot both ends of each group of colors. Perle cotton size 5, DMC floss (unstranded), or Silk Lame Braid for 18 mesh if you want a sparkle are recommended for cording. 

1 color: 3 groups of 5 strands
2 colors: 4 groups of 4 strands (two groups of each color)
3 colors: 3 groups of 5 strands
4 colors: 4 groups of 4 strands
If you do not have the tools to make cording, please arrive 15 minutes early to the class and you can make it in the store before the class.
